This is Prespa!

This is Prespa!

How it all began

It all started in summer 2009. A family summer holiday away from the noisy islands, as a change to the vacation routine of the last few years. We couldn't find somewhere further away from the popular, tourist hordes destinations and unusually refrshingly cool for Greek summer standards...

Agios Germanos village was the base of our summer 2009 explorations in Western Macedonia, just on the border with Albania and FYROM. Surrounded by an overwhelming explosion of nature, the Prespa Lakes basin and its villages reignited early memories of an idyllic "Garden of Eden", as described in my favourite childhood stories.

Walking through Aghios Germanos village alleys, river streams and fords we came across a robustly standing stone house seeking for attention and care ....

It is where the story begins ...

Nine months later we were the proud owners of a two storey stone built house and its stable in Akropotamias road, in Aghios Germanos
