A beautiful wall recess was disovered after the old plaster was removed. Repointing the stone, sanding the original chestnut lintel and plastering the back wall have revived a hidden architectural feature of the house, waiting to host a candle, a vase or a pile of books. Six recesses were revealed and restored.
